We started wrapping up the school year by Daniel getting invited back to umpire the Texas high school softball playoffs. This is his second year to do so.
This year I even got to watch him live on the internet.
While Daniel was away, we had some good nights of tball...
and some good hair days! Her hair is getting so long! If I leave it down, it has a curl at the end.
This was Reagan's first attempt at the best combination, ever: peanut butter and chocolate.
At first she just stared at it.
Then she devoured it!
Grant has been prepping for a while for Kindergarten graduation.
He won the end of the year reading award...
and the math award.
Vivian came to watch the festivities. Grant decided she needed to be more quiet.
Grant's teacher gave a great speech to the kids and parents and got teary eyed. It made me teary eyed when many students went to console her. Such sweeties!
Grant got the "Smarties" Candy Award for being smart in all subjects. His teacher said he loves to give us science facts and facts about animals. I wonder where he gets that from??
Here is Grant having fun with his classmates doing sidewalk chalk.
Tuesday night, it was time for graduation. But first, we must take a selfie. :)
Vivian came to cheer on Grant.
Grant and his teacher, Mrs. Laza.
The next day, Daniel did a science demonstration with liquid nitrogen to Grant's class. He broke a banana, grapes, and made them vanilla ice cream.
We are winding down our t-ball season. Reagan found a new favorite food, popcorn.
I caught Grant playing catch with one of his teammates who is much smaller than him. He was leaning down to him, telling him he has been doing good and to keep up the good work. It melted my heart. I'd rather my son be THAT type of kid than the best player on the field.
The last day of school arrived. Daniel has accepted a position teaching dual credit biology at another school in another district. We have been teaching together at the same school for 6 years. I won't hear "Do you know what your husband did today?" by students who share the crazy way he got his point across, we won't be able to co-sponsor the Interact Club, he won't make our lunch and share it with me during lunch time. These among many other things I"ll miss, but I know so many great things are ahead for him and I can't wait to see him blossom into a better teacher and leader!
The science department threw him and another teacher a going away party. We decided to dress this bundt cake up!
After school, I took the kiddos to eat at a new restaurant in town while Daniel rested. He hasn't been feeling well. I'm ready for a full summer of fun with these cuties.
