We celebrated the New Year with friends, family, food and board games! Some of my favorite things!
The next day we had a girl's day out shopping the sales.
Grant started playing basketball this month.
He does pretty well for a beginner. He dances when he tries to block. He encourages his teammates and says, "Good job!". He passed to a teammate and that kid made a basket. Grant yelled, "Now that's what I call shooting!" I am very proud of him and his great attitude about it all.
Reagan is an avid fan.
We took a short trip to Austin and visited Daniel's grandparents. Here is a sweet picture of Reagan reading with her great grandpa
We also finally celebrated Claire's first birthday.
Grant received the reading award for his class recently. The girl next to him was petting hers.
He was proud of his little trophy.
Each night we read a book of his choice and a story from the Bible. Its neat to see him pick up on words and read them to us from time to time.
We recently met with our church family at a local mall for some ice skating and broomball fun. I do NOT do any sort of skating, so Daniel had to take the lead on getting Grant out there.
He was wobbly at first and then tried to do this to Daniel. I'm glad we didn't have a 'mooning' incident!
Grant didn't make it around the rink once without crying and declaring, "I'm never ever coming back to this place again!". So, we quickly removed the skates and played video games with Conner. Good for us it was broken and let you play over and over without paying.
Once the general public left, our church was able to get back on the ice for broomball. No longer wobbly by the skates, Grant had a great time.
He only fell a few times and yelled "GOAL!" every time he made it past the girl's goal.
By the end of it all, he was cold and worn out. It was way past this boy's bed time.
