Memorial Day Weekend

Reagan ran very high fever, a runny nose and red eyes that were discharging on Thursday.  Come to find out on Friday, she had strep.  I was downing Airbourne tablets like no one's business.

Friday evening, Daniel came home with this surprise.
Yes, I was confused as well.  Its liquid nitrogen.  They had used it at school for some fun experiments and he had just enough left to show Grant some cool tricks.
Freezing strawberries.

Watching a frozen grape bounce on the counter.
Freezing a carnation.
Busting the carnation into pieces.

Watching it bubble.
We then made slime for the summer library program coming up.
This handsome guy will be performing his science skills for the reading program next month.
Saturday, Reagan would NOT go down for a nap.  She was feeling better so we took a trip to Costco.
We didn't go 10 miles before both of the kids were asleep.
Grant insisted on riding in the basket at the store.
He was so excited to try out the $300 massage chair.
Daniel then took us for an early dinner the Texas Roadhouse.

Sunday was a beautiful day.  We decided to make a trip to the duck pond since I had plenty of bread to feed them.

Reagan was acting back to herself again.  Inquisitive...
...and smiley!

I haven't been racking my brain for weeks on how to do a great thank you card to those who helped with Grant's community service project for the Neema House.  I finally came up with a chalk drawing.
I used so much black in my drawing that Grant was covered in it.  He was not thrilled.
Before the rain hit, we decided to cover our driveway in art.

Our 'tiger'.

Germs, Germs go away!

This past week we battled sickness pretty much all week.  I didn't feel good Sunday then Grant had fever Monday.  He ran fever until Thursday.
Here is us at the doctor the first time.  Poor guy feel asleep waiting for the doctor.
We ended up having to go back later in the week.  It wasn't ever clear what he had, but antibiotics seemed to do the trick.
By Friday night, Grant was turning our boxes into a rocket to take he and Reagan to the moon.

Saturday, we went to Relay for Life and Grant enjoyed some games.
Grant had another ball game, and they won!
He ended up with one of the game balls.
After the game, we went to a birthday party.
Reagan worked up an appetite and thoroughly enjoyed the watermelon.

She wasn't too happy when we ran out!
Sunday was a gorgeous day.  Sunny, not too hot and not too cold. We decided to let Reagan try out the sprinkler system in our yard.  She loved it!

Grant was acting silly, feeling much better.
Poor baby girl fell in the mud then decided to eat it.  It'll help her immune system, as my husband would say!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Listen In:  The thunder rolling (almost 5 inches inches in the week), and Reagan babbling.  PBS is playing in the background.  We are learning about sea creatures.

Dinner Plans:  The kids ate what I scrounged around for.  Daniel is baking some fish and sweet potato fries.

View from the Kitchen Window:  The scary ominous clouds have moved out.  More rain is on the way.

T-ball is in full swing.  Reagan seems to be the official cheerleader.

Think Wonderful Thoughts

This time of year is non-stop.  So, spring and I have a love/hate relationship.  On Friday, Vivian (my 3 year old niece) spent the night.  They are hilarious to listen to when pretending.  Annoying to listen to when they are arguing.  Here they are hunting aliens.
Vivian got the spa treatment from her Aunt Sissy (me).  I gave her and her monkey a pedicure.
The next morning, Grant completed his service project he's been working on "Nothing But Net For Neema".  Here is the article about him in the local paper. (Click on the picture to view and read it better)

Vivian was there to cheer him on as well as other family and friends.

Grant got 20 out of 100 goals, but raised almost $900 to provide formula to the babies in the orphanage.  He did a great job and we are so proud of him!

That evening, we went to the Casa Manana Playhouse in Ft. Worth to see "Peter Pan".
It was our "Mother's Day" outing.
We had great seats on the second row, so we were able to see the magic up close and personal.

God's Great Paintbrush

The bluebonnets in Texas this year were stunning.  No wonder people come from around the world to see these beauties.  Yes, they actually do come from around the world.  I met a tour group from Korea that was making their way around our local bluebonnet trails.
Before Easter, I got a few shots of them in their Easter outfits.
This farm equipment is my grandfather's.

And Daniel claimed she was in too bad of a mood for pictures that evening!

These were taken on Grant's birthday.
